MATV
MATV – Master Antenna Television
If you’re looking for a cost effective solution to install distributed television to multiple rooms at a Hotel, Motel or similar establishment MATV is the best way to go about this.
In a more traditional system, each TV set would need it’s own Antenna, however this introduces problems and so an MATV solution aims to have 1 Antenna. An MATV solution generally contains the following components:
- Single Antenna
- Processing component (Amplifiers, combiners etc)
- Distribution Network
Processing Component
The processing component is where all of the work is done, here we have the ability to bring in video from a number of different sources which may include the following:
- Free to air TV
- Satellite TV
- Foxtel
We can then take the input sources above and combine them to output them to Television sets, cleaning up the signal as we go.
Distribution Network
The distribution component of MATV can be handled a couple of different ways. We can use an existing coaxial cable network provided that it is suitable and all returns to a common point. Alternatively we can take a more modern approach and install using an IP (internet Protocol over Ethernet cable) based system leveraging off a data network.

We can take care of everything required from Data Cabling to the installation of the antenna and all of the processing hardware and even the distribution network whether that be traditional or IP Based.
